Now, Wifi Booster or REPEATER mode is available in Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8+ after the Nougat update! This is a hidden feature, which has not recieved much attention from users. This feature can come quiye handy at times! Everyone of us must have encountered this problem at some point in your life. You have your WiFi connected to one device and you want to share with another, WIRELESS. It could be that you only seem to be able to pick up a WiFi signal on your phone? What about if you want to get multiple devices online, but only want to pay to connect one? It could be a paid Hotel WiFi or could be a MAC ID locked WiFi at your student dorm you want to share with your friend. There is a solution - you can share your phone's WiFi connection to more phones, tablets and computers using Bluetooth so other devices can get online. Also, if you have the latest Samsung Galaxy devices, such as the S6, S6 Edge, S7, S7 Edge, S8 or the S8+ with Android Nougat, you can even share the WiFi using your phone as a WiFi repeater or WiFi extender. This is a nice touch from Samsung. This almost works like Connectify in Android. Connectify is a desktop based WiFi sharing application. So, if you don't have the above Galaxy phones, you are stuck with Bluetooth tethering, which is painstakingly slow. There used to be an app named fqrouter2 in Play-store for rooted devices, running Android 4.4 or below. But, it doesn't work with later versions of Android. Unfortunately, I could not find anyone in XDA Developers actively working for a WiFi repeater app. It can't be that hard. Apple iPhones could do it long back. Why not make this a standard feature in Android!
