Fridays of QGIS: How to interpolate spatial data and create contour lines

QGIS offers several alternatives for performing spatial interpolation which consists in using points with known values for a given variable to estimate it in other locations where its value is unknown. Among the deterministic methods available in QGIS, we can use IDW (Inverse Distance Weighted) interpolation, cubic spline, and triangular interpolation (TIN), among others. In addition, geostatistical methods such as ordinary kriging, universal kriging, etc. can also be applied. In this video you can learn how to obtain an interpolated elevation map from point measurements and then how to generate a map of isolines or contour lines. SUBSCRIBE for more QGIS video tutorials!
