How to change DNS settings to host a Namecheap domain at Hostgator. Click on your account name, and click 'Manage Domains'. Click on the the domain name that you want to change the DNS for. Click 'Transfer DNS to Webhost'. Make sure 'Specify Custom DNS Servers ( Your own DNS Servers )' is selected. Go to your (Hostgator) cPanel, and scroll down to find your name server addresses. These are the addresses we need to enter at Namecheap. Copy the address. Go back to namecheap and add your first and second name server. Click 'Save Changes'. Done! NOTE: it can take a while for the DNS settings to actually change. For me, with Namecheap, this seems to happen almost instantly.
