So take plenty of water on a hot day. First Fishing Trip With Kayaks Perception Pescador and Striker

Just bought two 12' fishing kayaks. The Perception Striker 11.5 is the big green 1 extremely stable, wide can stand and fish all day didn't come with a seat so it was uncomfortable for now and is a tri hull design with 4 built in rod holders on the back. The Perception Pescador 12 is the grey 1 and is narrow slightly tippy, very fast goes straight well and came with anchor trolly rod holder paddle bungie and is a great fishing kayak. Both have their pros and cons, don't know which I prefer yet.

A mixed bag of little reef species caught off cleveland point... Nothing masive but still good fun on light gear! Grassies were a welcome change seeing both Chris and Jai land their first ever! Another great day over the shallow reefs... The variety makes salt water fishing that little bit more interesting and ticking species off the bucket list is always a bonus! Hope you enjoy!!!

"Pack it in, Pack it out." Don't burn, bury, or leave litter or extra food. This includes cigarette butts, fruit peels, and hygiene articles. Keep your trash bag handy so you can pick up litter left by others. Use the privy for human waste only (feces). Do not add trash. If there is no privy, dispose of human waste by burying it in a "cat-hole," a hole 6-8 inches deep, 4-6 inches wide and at least 200 feet (80 steps) from campsites, water sources and shelters, and well away from trails. Add dirt to the hole, and stir with a stick to promote decomposition. Push toilet paper to the bottom of the hole, and leave your stick in the hole. Don't hide your waste under a rock -- this slows its decomposition. Note that most "disposable wipes" are made from non-biodegradable material that must be carried out rather than buried, burned, or left in privies. For those willing to go the extra mile, consider packing out your toilet paper, too. Animals' curiosity often brings toilet paper and other trash to the surface, where it's left for volunteers and other hikers to deal with. Wash dishes, bodies, and clothing 200 feet away from water sources. Use biodegradable soap sparingly, or not at all. Avoid polluting the water by rinsing off at a distance to remove your excess sunscreen, bug repellent, etc., before going for a swim in a lake or stream. Disperse dishwater and toothpaste, and urinate well away (at least 100 feet) from shelters and popular campsites. In this way, wildlife is not attracted close to camp. Animals sometimes defoliate plants to consume the salt in urine, so urinate on rocks or bare ground rather than on the vegetation. Where water is plentiful, consider diluting the urine by adding water to the site. If you wish to donate items to other hikers (food, extra gear, clothing, books, etc.), don't leave them at shelters -- where they can attract wildlife and become an eyesore -- use the hiker donation boxes at motels and hostels. Santa Barbara Island: On Friday August 17th, 2012, Island Packers in Ventura dropped us off at Santa Barbara Island with our camping gear and Kayaks. This trip was with my wife Susie, dive buddy Tom and his son Joe. At one square mile, SB Island is the smallest Island in the Channel Islands National Park and can be circumnavigated with kayaks, which was a highlight of our stay. An additional six miles of hiking trails and stunning views rounded out a very sweet and enjoyable trip. Video captured with GoPro HD Hero and Hero2

In the 1880's the town based its economy on salmon and timber but today relies upon tourism. Since 1900, Juneau has been the capital city of Alaska, the forty ninth state of the U.S.A. In 1880, Joe Juneau, Richard Harris and their Tlingit Indian leader, Chief Kowee, discovered gold in Gold Creek and the gold rush began. Glacier Bay was completely covered by ice and glaciers around four thousand years ago during the Little Ice Age. The ice melted and the ever-changing glaciers are today situated within the arms of the bay which stretches almost a hundred kilometres to the north. Barrow is the northernmost point of inhabited North America and five hundred kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. The living conditions in the arctic wastelands are extremely harsh and most of the year it is bone-chillingly cold. Even today the promise of untamed nature and boundless freedom attracts us to America's final wilderness. 34 miles from the Centerpoint Trail past the Henderson homestead to the Sneeds Creek trail hooking up to the Bench Trail past the Flowers Cabin to the Erbie Horse camp and crossing. From there I got on to the BRT to Kyle's Landing where stayed the night and finished by getting back on the BRT to Ponca. I then hopped on the Chimney Rock Trail and went back to the Centerpoint trail head where my truck was parked. Good Hike. it was in the 60's on Friday and dropped all the way down to the upper 20's on Saturday.

Dasa and her family spent Christmas in an all inclusive resort in Mexico's Riviera Maya just couple of minutes from the charming town of Playa Del Carmen. Riviera Maya is a tourist district following coastal Highway 307 from Cancun to Tulum and it boasts one of the best all inclusive resorts and beaches in Mexico. About 45 minutes south from Cancun lays Playa del Carmen. Originally a small fishing town, it has a population of over 100,000 people. Fifth Ave is very charming pedestrian avenue, filled with shops, restaurants and bars. You can window shop, watch street performers, and hop on a ferry to Cozumel- an island that has one of the best scuba diving in Caribbean. We stayed in Sandos Playacar Beach Resort, the last resort in Playacar complex, bordered on one side by Iberostar Toucan and Quetzal and on the other side by the jungle. Sandos has a newer section called Riviera Beach with 396 junior suites, each one with plasma TV's, 2 double or 1 king beds and sleeper sofa. This part of the hotel is quiet but one needs to walk about 7 minutes to get to beach and the Meeting Point. We stayed in original older section which is right next to the magnificent beach, pool, main buffet restaurant, and Meeting Point. A big plus was access and closeness of the beach, little drawback was noise. If you have small children that go to sleep early, this might not be the best fit for you as there is a program in the outside plaza in front of the Meeting Point every night starting at 10pm and it will be noisy till about midnight. The beach is very beautiful, clean with plenty of chairs if you are an early riser. At Christmas the hotel was at full capacity and people who leisurely arrived at the beach at 11 am had problems finding beach chairs. When it comes to food, you have a choice of 2 buffet restaurants for dinner and 5 a la carte restaurants. A la carte restaurants require reservations which are made at the Meeting Point. During your 7 night stay you can try 3 a la carte restaurants. We tried Asiana- oriental fusion restaurant. The appetizers we ate were great (sushi, sashimi, gyoza), the entrée was ok. El Gaucho Steakhouse is very popular and hard to get reservations for and it is absolutely NOT WORTH IT! It was the worst meal we had in the resort. Mediterranean Restaurant (only a la carte for dinners, they offer breakfast and lunch buffet) was our favorite restaurant we ate in. Excellent food and very nice location close to the pool and the beach. There is also a French Gourmet restaurant La Gourmet, that does not allow any kids, so we did not try it, but people seemed to like the food. For dinner buffet- you can choose to eat in the Grand Buffet Festival- the main buffet restaurant that offers different themes each night or the Italian buffet in Il Piemonte. Overall we were very happy with the quality and quantity of the food, there was always something you could choose from and like. Hotel and tour companies that have their reps in the hotel offer variety of excursions. We decided to rent a car for 2 days and do our own sightseeing to ruins of Tulum and Chitchen Itza. In retrospect I can say, that especially with trip to Chichen Itza it is worthy to take an organized tour and it actually caused a little bit less, then what we spend on our own, renting a car, paying for gas and toll on the highway from Cancun to Chichen Itza (50usd roundtrip), getting the guide, tickets and lunch. To see the Mayan ruins was a highlight of our trip to Riviera Maya and I strongly recommend seeing Chichen Itza- one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Beware that trip in all takes about 12 hours, but I would do it again in the heartbeat. While Sandos Playacar Beach is not a deluxe hotel and they were some frustrating details like not being able to call and make a dinner reservation (even though it is supposedly possible based on the brochure in our room) it is the people - waiters, bartenders, and rest of the staff that make this a really great place. We have never experienced nicer and friendlier service. They went above and beyond their duties, always willing to help and they really made our vacation a truly great one.

DescriptionMount Elwell Page Type: Mountain/Rock Location: California, United States, North America Lat/Lon: 39.70840°N / 120.6881°W Object Title: Mount Elwell County: Plumas Activities: Hiking Season: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter Elevation: 7818 ft / 2383 m Mount Elwell, one of the most northern Sierra Peaks Section (SPS) peaks, resides on the border of Plumas and Sierra Counties in Plumas National Forest. Though the summit is tame by most standards, the summit provides an exceptional view of the Lakes Basin below it, as well as views of Sierra Buttes, Weber Peak, and the Bald Mountain Range/Sardine Peak to the South/SE; Mt. Lassen can also been seen to the NW on a clear day. If you can resist the temptation of jumping into Long Lake Long Lake TrailFrom the parking lot at Elwell Lodge, take the "Silver Lake" Trail. This trail later forks, take the "Long Lake" fork. It will fork yet again, take the "Long Lake Trail", which is not on the Topo (see trailhead sign image) Plumas NF sign this trail follows the east side of Long Lake and connects with the Trail that runs along the base of Elwell. When I hiked this Trail, there was a log blocking the beginning of it, apparently placed by the Forest Service. This trail is not damaged or difficult to follow; it may be difficult to follow in the winter though, so if you are doing it then, I suggest bringing a GPS because you cannot see the lake most of the time. Once you've crossed the dam, head NW until you connect with the summit trail; follow this trail to the summit This is were we stayed Elwell Lakes Lodge The lush forests and scenic grandeur of the High Sierra welcomes the vacationer to Elwell Lakes Lodge. Nestled in a pine and fir forest at the end of a mountain road, it will take you back to an earlier era when you reach your destination. Built in 1920, the lodge has retained its rustic qualities while providing all of the modern amenities. Still owned and operated by the original family, we take pride in offering our guests the same homey atmosphere that attracted our first customers. Cozy housekeeping cabins provide the perfect "basecamp" for families, couples or individuals to enjoy the pleasures of the outdoors without sacrificing comfort. Each cabin has all of its pots, pans, dishes and linens provided plus kitchen and bathroom facilities. All you need to bring is your food! Our recreation building with its huge fireplace and our lounge building with its spectacular view of the area have many books and games to offer those who stay in camp. For those who love hiking and fishing, the Lakes Basin area is the perfect place to come. Numerous well-marked and maintained trails radiate from Elwell Lakes Lodge. A climb to the top of Mt. Elwell, 7,812 feet above sea level, affords a panoramic view of this wonderful lake region that is indescribable. For the fisherman, 23 lakes within a three-mile radius of the lodge, provide many a day of enjoyment fishing from the shore. On Long Lake, just three-quarters of a mile from the lodge, we provide rowboats for our guests to use for fishing or just floating lazily around. Swimming in our creek-filled pool or in one of the many nearby lakes is delightful during the warm summer days. For the fisherman, 23 lakes within a three-mile radius of the lodge, provide many a day of enjoyment fishing from the shore. On Long Lake, just three-quarters of a mile from the lodge, we provide rowboats for our guests to use for fishing or just floating lazily around. Lebanese Cuisine ( المطبخ اللبناني) includes an abundance of starches, whole grain, fruits, vegetables, fresh fish and seafood; animal fats are consumed sparingly. The traditional alcoholic Arak (عرق), an anise-flavored liqueur, which is the Lebanese national drink and is usually served with a traditional convivial Lebanese meal. Another historic and traditional drink in Lebanon is the wine (نبيذ). However, in Lebanon some desserts are specifically prepared on special occasions: the meghli, for instance that is served to celebrate a newborn baby in the family. The Lebanese cuisine is an ancient one and part of the Levantine cuisine, which include the Egyptian cuisine and Syrian cuisine, etc. Many dishes in the Lebanese cuisine can be traced back to thousands of years to Roman, and to the roots and origins of the Lebanese civilization, that is the Phoenicians. For most of its recent past, Lebanon has been ruled by foreign powers that have influenced the types of food the Lebanese ate. From 1516 to 1918, the Ottoman Turks controlled Lebanon and introduced a variety of foods that have become staples in the Lebanese diet, such as cooking with lamb. After the Ottomans were defeated in World War I (1914–1918), France took control of Lebanon until 1943, when the country achieved its independence. This time, the French introduced foods such as flan, a caramel custard dessert dating back to the 16th century AD, and buttery croissants.
